Stolmár & Partner opens new office in Hamburg and welcomes Andreas Noack as Hamburg Managing Partner

Stolmár & Partner is excited to announce the opening of its Hamburg office. Dr. Matthias Stolmár, Founding and Managing Partner of Stolmár & Partner: “As we continue to grow with domestic clients operating around the world to develop new technology, it is important to be more accessible in Germany. Hamburg is the economic hub of Northern Germany with its industry clusters for aviation, healthcare, life sciences, media & IT and renewable energies.“

The firm existing for almost 18 years, is now turning into something new. Its long, proven track record of success was not enough. With an eye towards the future, especially in view of the upcoming European Unitary Patent and the UPC, its management has developed a new attitude and strategy.

The firm has realized increased work, both in traditional intellectual property law services and ever changing, overlapping legal issues relevant to global product development and distribution. Work in IP litigation, transactional matters, and regulatory issues and cross-border enforcement proceedings are all on the rise for Stolmár & Partner.

Stolmár & Partner includes now Andreas Noack as Managing Partner of its Hamburg office.

Andreas‘ practice will focus on patent preparation and prosecution of MedTech, laser technology, automotive, software and IT/ Mobile Phone technologies as well as counseling clients on patent portfolio management, opposition and nullity proceedings, patent validity and infringement. He has extensive technological experience in the areas of mechanical engineering, laser technologies, medical devices, agricultural products, software patenting, automotive, metallurgy, semiconductors, fuel cells and packaging materials.

Andreas started his professional career in 1995 as R&D engineer in a mechanical engineering company, where he was mainly working in the field of process measurements and control. He was significantly involved in the development of a high-speed measurement system for the weight of cigarettes. In 2000, he moved to the IP department of the company, where he was mainly involved in patent searches, prosecution and oppositions.

In 2008, Andreas moved into a global medical devices company, where he was head of the IP section of the European R&D branch. Besides, he assisted in establishing a new US IP department and operated in global integration and harmonization of patent-related procedures. He is German and European Patent Attorney and representative at the EUIPO, and holds the „Diplôme d’Université  d’Etudes Supérieures sur le Contentieux des Brevets en Europe“ of Strasbourg University.
