Already during his studies, Bastian Scharre worked on patent applications and oppositions for a renowned law firm. In his diploma thesis he developed a control system for an electro-hydraulic self-energizing brake.
After his studies, he completed his training as a German patent attorney and representative before the European Patent Office in two internationally active law firms in North Rhine-Westphalia and Munich. Between 2007 and 2013, he worked for these firms on patent applications, trademark and design applications, prosecution, oppositions and expert opinions.
Between 2013 and 2018 he worked as In House Patent Attorney for a US American automotive supplier in Rhineland-Pfalz. There, he was responsible for new patent applications, nationalizations, freedom-to-operate searches, oppositions and nullity proceedings. Furthermore, he carried out negotiations on license agreemens and development agreements. He also conducted IP training for engineers worldwide and represented the company in out-of-court negotiations in patent litigation.
From 2018 to 2020, Bastian Scharre ran his own IP law firm based in Munich. He joined the tech team of Stolmár & Partner in 2020.
